That was a busy month.
I know that for most of us, December can be both a joy and a giant hassle (sorry, not sorry, Christmas).
Our family chucks in 2 out of 4 birthdays in December, too. Which has made me really good at throwing birthday parties during the holidays. It has also made me really good and tired.
This year we had a family wedding during the most wonderful time of the year, too.
Here are some highlights from our 31 crazy days of December.
A visit from Grandma and Grandpa
My parents started the month off with a visit from out west. They chose to come the weekend after Thanksgiving so we could attend the NFL game between the LA Rams and the Detroit Lions. (My dad used to play for the Rams).
On-field passes? Yes, please!
Next up we celebrated my daughter’s birthday and my birthday, which are one day apart. My husband surprised us with a fancy dinner out this year. There is something magical about celebrating your birthday when the world is decorated for Christmas. There is also something magical when your kids behave in public at a fancy restaurant.
We piled into the car and drove 8 hours to my sister-in-law’s wedding. It was fun, festive time seeing two people in love commit to each other and celebrating with family and friends.
The Christmas Push
Shopping. Wrapping. Decorating. Baking. Christmas concerts at school. Secret Santa gifts at work and school. Holiday parties at work and school. Sound familiar?!
And lots of hockey, too.
Sweet, happy Christmas! Lots of love from above and in my own home surrounding me.
The Week After
Seriously, I could have slept the whole week after the month I had. But, I got up everyday and ate lots of cheese and cookies. And then napped. So, it was good.
Happy New Year to you, dear readers! Thanks for coming along with me on the blog this past year. Here’s to a terrific 2019!
