A Tweet, a Fax, and Some Family Love – Not

April 9, 2013 By Katy 7 Comments

Last week, I tweeted something cute that my 6-year-old said:

As luck would have it,  Huffington Post Parents saw my tweet, liked it, and then shared it with their 100,000+ followers as one of their best parenting tweets of the week. I thought that was cool! Exciting even!

When my husband got home from work, I told him the news.

“One of my tweets was picked by Huffington Post Parents as their favorite!”

“I don’t know what that is,” he replied.

“What? A tweet?”

“No, that Huff Post whatever. I don’t know what that is.”

And there was my first slice of humble pie.

Not deterred, I shared my Huffington Post Parents news with my friends on Facebook last night.

Meanwhile, my 69-year-old Dad called during the NCAA championship game to chit chat. My husband answered the phone and the two of them talked awhile. When the call ended, my husband was laughing.

“What’s so funny?”

“Your dad said you couldn’t talk to him because you were too busy faxing!”

“What?”

“Yea, he mentioned something about seeing your Facebook status and how you must be too busy faxing to talk to him.”

And there you have it, ladies and gentleman, my second piece of humble pie of the evening.

If anyone needs me, I’ll be faxing. With my fax machine:

I don’t think husbands get this blogging thing! At least mine doesn’t. 🙂

Wow, you are on a roll. Who knew that Dads being ‘electronically challenged’ would be so entertaining?

Thank you, Lou Lou! Of course, the tweet out to thousands of Twitter accounts led to a huge increase in my Twitter followers–> 3 or so. But, still thrilling.

Well, I think that is awesome! My husband is not a social media person either, so he doesn’t get it. That’s hilarious about your dad!
