My kids are going to be the ring bearer and flower girl in a wedding this summer. The bride is one of their former teachers and babysitters. It’s actually a nice honor, but I hope they come through for the bride!
Will does not want to be in a wedding. I’m not sure why. Recently when we were talking about it he said, “I’m not going.”
“Yes, you are.” I stated adamantly.
“No.”
“Yes, you are.”
“No. I won’t do it.”
I thought for a second, then offered, “How about for money?”
He smiled. His eyes twinkled. He nodded yes. I know what motivates this kid. Chad and I actually have nicknamed him Alex P. Keaton after the character on Family Ties!
“How much?” he asked.
“Five bucks.”
“No way. Twenty.”
Er, what? Did I just get scammed by a 6-year-old?
“Ten,” I countered.
“No. Twenty.”
“Ten or you do it for nothing, mister!”
“Fine,” he whined (so it really sounded like F-i-i-i-i-n-n-n-e).
