Another Universal Truth of Motherhood

April 4, 2013 By Katy 6 Comments

Last fall I shared some Universal Truths of Motherhood, such as:

The toy you secretly gave away to the Goodwill yesterday after no one played with it for a year is the toy they suddenly remember and want to play with today.

This week I noticed yet another Universal Truth of Motherhood:

Children will NEVER put the bag of pretzels back in the pantry, no matter how many times you ask, tell, or yell at them to do so.

Unless there are mere crumbs left in the bag of pretzels.

In that case, children WILL ALWAYS put the bag of pretzels back in the pantry!

Look, Mom, I left the family a whole dozen broken pretzel bits! Eat up!

What Universal Truths of Motherhood have you noticed lately?

My universal truth: The only time your children will get along and play happily together for hours on end is when they are supposed to be cleaning their room or doing another chore! If you interrupt they will start fighting and if you let it go you’ll never get any work done!

I actually find empty boxes in the pantry. Someone takes the last granola bar and leaves the box – which can be frustrating when I am trying to make a lunch and find a whole lot of nothing. 🙂

I came up with a few truths myself once. You can read them here:

Mothers are so darn wise…if the rest of the world would just LISTEN! L-)
