I hope you all had a happy Easter!
We enjoyed the long weekend together, since Chad got a half-day on Good Friday.
First, we dyed Easter Eggs. Chad even got into the act this year. In fact, he drew a butt on one of Will’s eggs. From that point on, I lost both my big boy (Chad) and my little boy, who laughed and laughed about their butt eggs.
When the butt eggs were done, I dragged the family to the mall to meet the Easter Bunny. Sydney, 4, is in that sweet phase of enjoying princesses and fantasy play, so she was excited. (She’s come a long way since she was two!)Will, 7, was less than enthusiastic, especially when we arrived and noticed that the majority of kids in line were infants or toddlers.
He refused to see the Easter Bunny.
I quickly informed him that meeting the Easter Bunny and making his mom happy were additional duties he must perform in order to get his allowance that week. Motivated by money, he met the bunny.
But then Chad complained about how much it cost to meet the bunny and get a picture. So he scootched over to the side and tried to take “free” pictures of the kids with our own camera, which was prohibited.(But, really, I don’t think the bored looking girl working the Easter Bunny kiosk would have kicked us out!)
Here’s how his picture turned out:
So, yes, I decided to spend $18 on an adorable picture of my children meeting the Easter Bunny (which was not digital, alas.)
Butt eggs, money, and memories! Happy Easter 2011!
