This picture has nothing to do with this post! But I like it. |
This is the kind of thing that reinforces just how awesome Moms are! It also reinforces why you should pay attention in math class. I’ve got to figure out crap like this on a daily basis:
Will attends after-school care 3 days a week until 5pm. Each day costs $10. If he signs up for a Community Education sports program that runs at the same time as after-school care, he receives a 25% discount on the cost of the class. Or, he could drop after-school care on the day he participates in the sports program for a $15 change fee ($5 to change his schedule to 2 days a week and then $10 to change his schedule back to 3 days a week when the sports program is over). If he drops after-school to attend the sports program, we do not receive the 25% discount off the sports program and pay full-price. The sports program runs 1 afternoon per week for 6 weeks and its regular cost is $69.
Which option is most cost-efficient?
Oh, and before you figure that out, throw in an employer breathing down your neck, a cat barfing on your new carpet, 2 hungry and whiny kids, a husband on a business trip, field trip permission slips, at least 1 birthday present to buy, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Go.
Note: Do not try and wrap your brain around this, unless you are either 1) a Mom or 2) one of my fabulous engineer/statistician friends!
