My boss invited me and my colleagues to her lake house this weekend for dinner and time at the beach. Our families were invited, too.
That meant my children had to behave. I gave them a good talking to before we arrived. There would be no talking about penises, butts, poop, pee, etc.
The house was very pretty and the weather was beautiful. I wanted a picture of my kids to commemorate the beautiful day.
I told my son to smile for the camera.
He told me he didn’t want his picture taken.
Here’s the commemorative picture of my son at my boss’ shindig:
I’m expecting a big raise this year, for sure!
Did you do anything special this weekend?

I given that same how to behave outside the home lecture to my children! It’s amazing the things you find yourself explaining as a parent.

Yes, and I didn’t add that he belched out loud in my boss’ kitchen (while I crawled under a rock). When I scolded him, he said that I didn’t tell him he couldn’t burp. Really? Really?!
Melisa says
Oh boy. That sounds exactly like something my boys would do.

Hahaha! Why is it that each time we need our kids to behave really well, that’s when they tend to go crazy?! LOL
Melisa says
My husband is the manager of a retail farm store. Every single time we go in there I give my 5 year old the lecture about how he has to behave in Daddy’s store. Fact is, appearances do count when it comes to business. Thankfully, Peanut has always been on his best behavior.
And your son…hilarious. That’s something I probably would have done.

LOL, he’s a hoot! My Brady would do the same. I have a photo of him at VBS last year with a HUGE smile, but it took 15 minutes of grumpiness to finally get it.

See, that makes me feel better! Will is not into me taking his picture at all. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to start *paying* him to show teeth!

They can sense when we don’t want them to do something-then they do it!

Nothing special happened over my weekend. Did quite a bit of shopping for the kids for back to school which starts in 9 days. What a commemorative photo! I’m sure he’ll look back at it a few years from now and say “what a great photo!” 🙂

My youngest is camera shy too! I won’t show him this or it would give him ideas.

oh the thongs we have to tell our children hahaha. I am always saying things that make me sound crazy to my children. Most recent was telling my five year old to stop explaining the umbilical cord and placenta to her uncle. Long story.
