“Where are we going today?” asked my 4-year-old this morning. I’m home with her and her brother all this week.
“To school. I wish it was miraculously open,” I wanted to say, but didn’t.
“We have to go to the bank and the store,” I replied, “and I have to sit down at the bank and do some business so you both have to be good. You can sit at that table and color. But, really, you both have to be good.”
I saw a gleam in her eye from across the room.
“Will,” she whispered to her big brother.
He looked at her.
“Will, we can draw butts!” she whispered gleefully.
Yeah, that’s nice. Drawing butts = being good at the bank!
