I’m living in a house divided.
First, there is Will, 7. He wants to recycle everything. He demands we use the front and back of every paper. Last week he left the wee plastic stub of his ring pop on the counter.
“Will, put this in the trash,” I commanded.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,” he shrieked. “Recycle it!”
I let him throw it in the recycle bin, but (gasp) I don’t think it can be recycled. Now it’s probably going to jam up the recycling center or void our entire bin for the week!
Meanwhile, I bring home a lot of the extra sheets from the printer at work. These pages usually ran through the printer blank or have 1 line of someone’s footer printed on them (usually the person who’s footer concludes with “consider the environment before you print this email”)
Sydney REFUSES to color or paint on these papers. She demands new, clean sheets each time.
I see a rumble in the jungle if her brother ever gets wind of this!
