Ke$ha, Money, and My Kids

Those of who have been hanging around my blog for a while know that my 9-year-old son has a long history with money.

This is the kid who as a toddler I had to pull out of a fountain at Magic Kingdom because he was picking  the coins out of it.

This is the kid who saw Dolphin Tale and, rather than get emotional about the tale-less dolphin, focused on the giant fundraising success by the people in the movie.

This is the kid who negotiated $10 from us to be the ring bearer in a wedding.

I could go on.

So it came as no surprise when we were driving somewhere and a song by Ke$ha came on the radio. I have a newer car and the car’s display shows the song title and artist.

“Why does Ke$ha have a dollar sign in her name?” he asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe she likes money.”

“Sydney (his sister) should change her name to $ydney!” he said with excitement.

“And let me guess. You can manage her money, right?”

“YE$$$!”

    Your kiddos are a riot!
I have the Music Channel on “Hit List” via Comcast, way too often, so I actually know the aswer to your son’s question. #worthlessknowledge
Ke$ha was BROKE when she first started out so she thought it ironic and funny to put a $ sign in her name.
Now, I need to get a life. 😉

My boys are obsessed with money-coins specifically. Henry saw my change console in the van yesterday and looked like he had won the lottery!!

Hey, if pennies and small change make him happy, go with it! Pretty soon he’ll be seeking the big bucks.

How funny! My daughter is always on me because I mispronounce Ke$ha. I have a money hoarder also, his pride and joy is a $2 bill!

Grandpa knows he’s got a money hound, too, and enjoys sending those $2 bills or passing out the gold dollar coins. Thanks for commenting!

Hey now, this could be your ticket to early retirement, or some special vacation perks? mmmm, if only my ungrateful kids knew the value of a dollar!
