Killer Plastic Slinky

May 10, 2010 By Katy 1 Comment

I was at the library checking out. Will was standing to one side of me, tossing up a small plastic slinky into the air and catching it.

He tossed it above his head maybe 1 or 2 feet and then caught it with both hands.

The older librarian who was checking me out started waving at him and said sternly, “Don’t throw that. Stop that. No throwing.”

Uh, 1) I’m right here. If you want my evil son to stop doing something, feel free to consult me as his legal guardian.
2) It’s a plastic slinky. That is 2 inches long. And he is tossing to himself. Away from everyone but me.

I want to put this out there that if he was chucking it at someone or something, or if it was a dangerous (!) metal slinky, I would have told him to stop. But it was small, plastic, and he was tossing it to himself.

Give me a break!

Ah, the joys of having your child reprimanded in public places!
