Memories are Made in Christmas PJs

When I think of Christmas, many things come to mind. The ultimate gift of the season, of course, Jesus. Then there’s Christmas cookies (hey, I’m keeping it real!), Christmas gifts, Christmas trees, and even Christmas pajamas. Indeed, I have several sweet and silly Christmas memories that involve Christmas pajamas. Today I’m pleased to be sharing them with you on behalf of Joe Boxer. Like me, Joe Boxer pajamas from Kmart know how to embrace the sweet and silly moments of the season.

Here are my Top 3 Christmas memories in pajamas:

1. A newborn at Christmas

My daughter, now 8 years old, was born just before Christmas. I worried that having a baby so close to a major holiday would be stressful. However, it was a magical time of year to cuddle in our pajamas, go nowhere, linger by the Christmas tree, and just be.

Newborn Christmas Joe Boxer(Note: you weren’t expecting a picture of ME and my newborn were you? I was a sleep deprived, breastfeeding machine, so there aren’t a lot of pictures of me from that first month!)

2. The best Christmas card picture that wasn’t

A year after my daughter was born I tried to take the best Christmas card picture EV-AH of her and her big brother, age 4. Alas, it never materialized and I sent out a decent, but not perfect, photo that year.

A week AFTER Christmas, you know, AFTER the cards had been made and sent, I just happened to take what is one of my favorite all-time pictures of my kids:

ChristmaspajamaspicThey’re squeaky clean and super cozy in their pajamas, smiling, hugging each other AND looking at the camera. But it was too late for the Christmas cards. And, by the time next Christmas rolled around they, of course, had grown like weeds and didn’t look like this at all anymore. The perfect Christmas card picture that never was!

3. PJs and Stories with Santa

Each year our town offers an event called “PJs and Stories with Santa”. It’s a 2-hour party where the kids wear their pajamas, drink cocoa, make crafts, listen to a Christmas story, and then meet Santa Claus.

It sounded perfect when my kids were little, so I signed up. It would be so much better to meet Santa in their pajamas then drag them to the mall and stand in line for who-knows-how-long!

Except.

It wasn’t so much better.

And it didn’t go exactly as planned.

I think you can see why:

SantainpajamasStill, all these years later, my family and I giggle at the time this bad mom dared take her children to meet Santa in their pajamas. This memory is a keeper (and probably going in my daughter’s slide show when she graduates or gets married!).

There you have it, my Top 3 Christmas memories in pajamas. Now it’s time to tell you all about Joe Boxer pajamas available at Kmart and how they’ll help make your holiday memorable. Whether you give them as a gift, or buy them now to wear during the season, Christmas memories are waiting to be made in a new pair of jammies!

This year I’m wearing some cute, charming flannel pajamas from Joe Boxer. My Joe Boxer pajamas sport coffee mugs in the shape of reindeer, penguins, snowmen, and Santa. The buttons even sparkle! So fun:

And, did you know that Joe Boxer has great gifts for the men in your life? Like these funny “Got Nuts?” Christmas boxers:

Go Nuts by Joe BoxerIt’s about Nutcrackers, folks! Don’t worry, I’m keeping it family-friendly.

To celebrate and debut the Joe Boxer holiday collection this year, Kmart is bringing its famed Joe Boxer ads back for the holidays with not one, but two humorous videos.

First up, the men show off Joe Boxer’s new sleepwear prints and styles (and that’s not all they show off!) in “Jingle Bellies”:

Second, it’s the ladies’ turn to shine in their rockin’ mommas rendition of “Santa Baby””:

Joe Boxer’s fun, whimsical pajamas and sleepwear are available at Kmart in styles and sizes that will please the whole family. Thanks to Joe Boxer available at Kmart for inspiring this trip down memory lane in my Christmas pajamas.

Have any of your favorite holiday memories happened while wearing PJ’s? Or do you have Christmas pajama traditions? Which Joe Boxer video was your favorite?

So fun! And yes I feel your pain about that untimely perfect Christmas photo! Our tradition is to always get a pair of new pyjamas on Christmas Eve. When my two were little I always managed to get it just right. Later? Sometimes not so much. Like that time I thought fleecy bottoms adorned with wolves would be perfect for my 15 year old son. Until his older cousin spied them. So you’re a Twilight fan?” Oops.

Ha ha ha! I think fleecy wolves are warm and appropriate for a boy. Shows you how much I know!

I’m now anxiously awaiting my tween/teen year pajama *special* memories!

Aw, such sweet memories! I think I lived in my pajamas for the first few months after my kids were born. My in-laws kept dropping by unannounced to see the baby. My mother-in-law thought it was terrible that I didn’t get dressed and put on make-up every day. After awhile I think I kept wearing my pjs all day just to annoy her! Ha!

Ha ha! It’s really a mother’s choice, not a mother-in-law’s choice, whether you stay in your pajamas with the newborn or not!

I *LOVE* Joe Boxer, but our KMart recently went out of business. I’m going to miss getting fun Christmas gifts there this year. I plan on trying to make some pajama pants for my kids this year. I haven’t started yet, though…
