Parenting Fails in Pictures

January 16, 2014 By Katy 12 Comments

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen is making the news this week for her questionable parenting choice of driving an ATV while holding her infant daughter. Neither is wearing a helmet.

Check out the picture here on the US Weekly page.

This photo of Gisele’s parenting fail got me thinking about what photographic evidence there is of my parenting fails. Turns out there’s quite a bit! I’m providing the evidence below as a public service, so that you can make better parenting choices than I did.

Parenting fail photo #1

I took my daughter to meet Winnie the Pooh.

Parenting fail photo #2

I left the kids alone for 30 seconds when I went to the bathroom.

Parenting fail photo #3

I let the baby entertain herself.

Parenting fail photo #4

I gave the baby the whole bag of goldfish rather than just a handful.

Folks, don’t let my mistakes be your mistakes! I hope you feel better educated about making good parenting choices now.

Do you have any pictures of your parenting fails? I’d love to see them! Please tell me about them or upload them to my Facebook wall.

P.S. This post was inspired by Gisele and also Scary Mommy, aka Jill Smokler, who asked her readers to share their parenting fails last week on the Scary Mommy Facebook page.

Brady has exactly ONE photo with Santa. He is one year old and he screamed his head off anywhere near that guy. So the photo is of me sitting NEAR Santa, with Brady on my lap clutching my arm and staring at the big guy. Sigh. He never wanted to talk to Santa ever again after that.

Thanks, Caitlin! Your comment made my day ’cause you totally understood my humor (and glad you picked up on it being sweet!).

I have so many parenting fails. So many.

Love that first picture. I’m afraid of masked creatures so I’d be petrified too. My kids, however, love them. We took my daughter to see Pooh and Friends when she was like 1 and she loved them.

They were probably pretty stoked to get 30 seconds alone and knew exactly what they were doing–especially the older one!

Ha loved it! I’m glad I don’t have paparazzi following me around to capture all my parenting fails, it would be a full-time job!

I’d be scared to go back through my photos and see all my “fails.” One that comes to mind is when my oldest was little and came to me the most horrible look on his face with dog poop all over his hands…he’d tried to pick it up in the yard for some reason and realized it wasn’t something he wanted to pick up! I didn’t take a picture!!

Aww, I feel bad for you and him! No need for a pic of that, for sure.
