Today is the last school day before a 2-week Christmas/Winter break! I’d like to thank the archaic school system for giving the kids two weeks off when pretty much all of their parents work outside the home these days, and don’t have two weeks off.
I digress.
I signed up to read a holiday story in Will’s class today. I was excited and told him what I had done.
“Are you going to read the potty book?” he asked anxiously. He was referring to Once Upon a Potty, that ubiquitous potty book everyone reads that mentions pee pee and poo poo and various body parts. Since Sydney potty trained this fall, we’ve been looking at it a lot in our house.
“No,” I answered. “I’m going to read Elf on a Shelf!”
“Ahhhhhh. I really wanted you to read the potty book!” he whined. “My friends would really like thaaaaaaaaat.”
Sorry to be a spoil sport. I shared holiday cheer, not tales of pee pee, poo poo, and butts. Maybe next year, kid!
