Put in My Place

This week both kids put me in my place.

First up, Sydney:

We were in the living room. She asked for something to drink. I explained to her that she already had enough Kool-Aid and Juice for the day and she needed to have water, because it’s healthy (oh, I’m so good).

She looked at what I was drinking, shook her head subtly, rolled her eyes a bit, and said, “Beer is NOT healthy.”

As Homer Simpson would say, Du-oh!

Next up, Will:

I was driving down Michigan Avenue when some teeny-bopper in her mother’s minivan pulled out of CVS and crossed 4 lanes of traffic, right in front of me.

I laid on the horn and shouted sarcastically, “I’m young and I’m STUPID!!!!!”

Will piped up from the back seat, in a sing-song voice, “I’m 40 and I’m smart!”

You know, he’s right…
