Ready to Make Your Christmas Cards?

November 13, 2013 By Katy 17 Comments

It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year.

Which may have some of you in a panic.

Time to look back over the last few months and find a family picture that doesn’t stink. After all, there are Christmas cards to be made! Take a look at this family photo I rejected for our Christmas card:

IMG_1607v2

While my husband looks handsome, my daughter seems to be thinking “Lord, THIS is the family you stuck me with?” and clearly my son and I are NOT at our photogenic best.

I have made the majority of my cards, though, because I took advantage of some card deals this fall. But if your thoughts are just now turning to Christmas cards, then today is the day to jump on this deal from Tiny Prints. Today, Wednesday, 11/13 ONLY, they are offering 25% off plus free shipping. Use code HOLIDAY25FS.

I say go for it!

And good luck getting a great family picture!

I’d love to see your family photo! We should do a blog linky where we virtually post Christmas wishes to our blogging buddies.

Ha! That’s awesome. This would probably be the BEST one for our family to get as getting 8 people to all look at the camera at the same time and smiling with eyes open is darn near impossible.

Our photographer took this one–along with 1,000 others. I’d say my son is acting like a goof in 99%.

I should. Why not? It would be pretty memorable–and it’s accurate.

Laughing because I struggle with this every year. My youngest makes silly faces (he’s been doing it since he was about 2), and my oldest looks like we just told him video games will cease to exist forevermore. My daughter is the only one who I can get a good picture of. And so, my Christmas cards are not done yet. And I am not sure when they will be. LOL

My son used to be America’s Next Top Model and recently started telling the camera a big fat NO. So my Christmas card may turn out something like this. Thank god my mother is a graphic designer and can edit a smile for him.

Good job having a mom who can make magic! My mom can barely order things online, much less graphic design things. 🙂

I can never get a good photo of all of us. :/ It’s why we rarely do photo cards.

I mentioned in 1 of my earlier comments that our photographer took about 1,000 photos and we have about 4 total in which everyone was smiling and looking at the camera. Unbelievable!

I never have photos of all four of us. I always have to ask my friends to send me their photos of us. They take better photos, and my kids will behave better if someone else asks them to pose.

I’ve a holiday newsletter/year recap in the voice of my son since he was a newborn. Now he’s 6 years old, and he’s going to help me write it. I also print a photo collage on regular paper of memorable photos from the year. It’s not as nice as photo cards, but hey, I figure I get more photos and stories in for less money.

Thanks for sharing the photo, it’s really cute.

That sounds like a cute idea, having your son be the narrator. Good luck with this years!

Actually we went with a photo from a sand dune ride we went on during our summer vacation. Everyone’s smiling and having fun.

I NEED to do this and I actually have a gift card for Tiny Prints, I just need to get the fam together and get someone to take some pics of us. I have to tell you, the BEST Christmas card I ever got was from my son’s former girlfriend. It was priceless! On the front, they had the standard formal picture of the family in their Christmas sweaters, but you open it up and they are all wearing just Christmas boxers underneath – even the Mom. It was so funny, I laughed about it for days!
