Last week I took the kids to see Tangled.
“In 3D?” Will, 7, asked.
“Uh,” I fumbled. Actually, no, I wasn’t going to take them to see it in 3D. Around here the theaters charge $2.50 more per ticket just to see a movie in 3D. That’s $7.50 extra I would have to pay for the three of us to wear special glasses and see some things come at us. You know the kids want popcorn, too. And the last time I took my kids to see a movie (Legends of the Guardians), Sydney fell asleep about half-way through.
So, no, we weren’t going to see it in 3D.
But did I explain all this to Will?
No, I took the Experienced Bad Mom’s way out.
“Uh, it’s only in 3D the first week it comes out. Yeah, that’s it. And so, no, we aren’t going to see it in 3D.”
Yes, folks, it was a total lie! The coward’s way out! But this isn’t the Good Mom blog now is it?
