One of our family traditions is visiting Disney World every year. The kids love it, no matter how old they are.
As the years have gone by, I’ve noticed more and more people wearing custom and/or matching Disney shirts. There are a couple reasons for this:
-
- The economy is better,
- Etsy and all its shops offering matching Disney shirts are better.
This year was the first time I felt the need to get matching Disney shirts. Of course, my teenage son and husband did NOT feel this same need.
Their loss.
Here we are wearing our matching “Ohana means family” shirts as we met Stitch. Might I add that Stitch loved it!
And here are some of my favorite silly Disney shirts that I saw around the parks.
(Note I have linked the images to the Etsy shops that sell these shirts although I am not an affiliate in any way. I just find these cute and funny.)
I’m just here to pay for everything
Right? This one is perfect for all moms and dads.
I don’t do matching Disney shirts
When my husband said he didn’t want a matching t-shirt with me and my daughter, I was *this close* to buying him this one:
Shark Bait Hoo Ha Ha
Remember this classic line from Finding Nemo? Shark bait hoo ha ha!
I shall call him squishy
And here’s another shirt with a classic line from Finding Nemo, “I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine, and he shall be my Squishy.”
Most expensive day ever
Just embrace it, folks!
I had a little pep in my step walking around Disney with my daughter wearing our matching Disney shirts. I would do it again.
Honorable mention for silly Disney shirts goes to those including “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King, “Best Day Ever” from Tangled, and “I’m Olaf and I like warm hugs” from Frozen.
And a big shout out to the grandpa I saw at Disney proudly wearing his customized “Paw Paw” shirt with Mickey ears. I’m not sure I could pull that one off, Paw Paw!
What about you? Would you wear, or have you worn, matching Disney shirts?

I know when we finally get to Disney (if we ever do) we will definitely wear matching shirts. These are great!

How wonderful that your girl was up for a matching shirt. Long, long may it last. I was last at Disneyland when my two were 4 and 5 and we didn’t wear matching shirts. But that might have been because it was eons ago and the quality available wasn’t nearly as good as it appears to be today. I’m all about the sarcastic tones of the ones you posted and think I’d likely choose one of them on another visit. Could I get my two to also sport one? Probably not …

I think the big kids like yours wearing sarcastic shirts is more enjoyable than the families of 28 wearing matching shirts. Just my opinion.

Disney World’s Epcot has a Norway pavilion, but nothing from Sweden. Or Australia. But you and your brood could just wear matching Swede/Oz shirts proudly and every one would be happy.

Oh my word I actually laughed out loud at the ‘Most expensive day ever’ that is hysterical. I should get that for my husband who is always complaining about the cost of going out with our three girls. What a fab idea for a post Katy, I loved it. Thanks so much for sharing with us at #TweensTeensBeyond

Is Father’s Day in June like it is here in the U.S.? If so, it’s coming up and that shirt could be the perfect gift. đŸ™‚

We have a collection of t-shirts with slogans but none from Disney. We missed a trick there for sure. They are compulsive buying though. The key is to keep hold of them – who knows what they might be worth?! #TweensTeensBeyond

Well Katy – a lot of the merchandise is actually a bit fashionable for the tweens here at the moment. My daughter was going bonkers for the back pack with Mickey Mouse ears which was quite a surprise because I thought I was the uncool one around here! It’s everywhere currently. Handbags the lot. Partly to do with the Primark/Disney collaboration here I suspect. Anyway keep wearing those ears! Thanks for sharing with #tweensteensbeyond

I have never heard of Primark but it must be something–especially if the teens in England think so!

Although we don’t do it for every Disney visit, a couple of years ago my daughter and daughter-in-law each ordered sets of shirts for our entire traveling party to celebrate grandpa’s 80th birthday. Everyone loved the shirts even if only the females, children, and grandpa would admit it!

Someday, oh someday, I’ll get to go to Disney world…
Love the “Most expensive day ever” shirt. I’ve heard it’s pretty pricey to visit Disney World.
