I have a smattering of comments for today.
First, regarding my post of last week and the zillion things I had to keep track of for Will’s first grade class: I got an email from a friend who shall remain nameless. She could relate to the zillion things going on for “March is Reading Month.” Her comment, which I consider a lovely guest post, was “Read-A-Thon can kiss my a$$!”. Love it!
Second, I am just back from my first business trip in nearly 5 years. I really liked having a room of my own at night and the ability to watch Entertainment Tonight vs. Spongebob. Although, I missed my kids after 1 night away and was mildly bored the remaining 2 nights of my trip!
Before I left, I reminded Will and Sydney that I was leaving the next day. Will, in a panic, cried out, “But who’s going to take care of us!??!?”
Uh, your dad.
“He has to go to work. But who’s gonna take care of us?!?!?”
Ahhh, I really don’t know what to say. Either I’m better at motherhood than I thought, or poorer, since the kids don’t realize their Dad is an equal partner in this.
I also have to report that my 13-year-old cat supposedly wandered around every evening looking for me. Usually he snoozes on my lap every night after the kids go to sleep. The cat, instead of settling for Chad’s lap, choose the Disney Cars sofa as his place to sleep. I can almost here him meowing, “Meow, but who’s gonna take care of me?” in my absence!
