November has arrived in Michigan along with the requisite gray skies, cold temperatures, and huge squirrels. We have already had several frosts and our growing season is long-gone.
Sydney, 3, and I were outside playing when she noticed the tomato plants in our garden from this summer. “Look!” she cried. “There’s a red one. I’m going to pick it.”
I explained to her that even though some of the tomatoes were red, they had been affected by the cold weather and were pretty yucky. In fact, we should just leave all the tomatoes on the vines. They needed to go to Tomato Heaven.
A minute later she spied some more tomatoes. “Those need to go to Tomato Kevin, too,” she said seriously.
I laughed and laughed. Kids are the greatest!
I wonder if Tomato Kevin is available for a play date?
