Just a quick update that school started Tuesday (Will’s in 2nd grade and Sydney is in a new preschool group). It took me all of *2 days* of school before I had to go through the drive thru of McDonald’s to pick up dinner.
What else was I supposed to do? Chad, my lovely husband, was out of town. I worked til 4:30, raced to the after school program to pick up Will and then Sydney, took Will to his 5 pm soccer practice, played with Sydney until the soccer practice was over at 6:30, then stopped by Little Caesar’s for a pizza. Was denied a pizza as some other harried mothers must have gotten there earlier and bought them all. (At least 10 people were waiting for the Hot ‘n Readys, which is ironic, I know.) In frustration I finally pulled through the Mickey D’s drive thru.
At least the children were fed.
(And crock pot lovers please don’t tell me I should have gotten up half an hour earlier to chop stuff to then cook all day in the crock pot and finally be ignored by my children who don’t like hunks of meat and overcooked veggies! Been there, done that, don’t like it.)
