We have a single driveway at our house so often one of us parks on the street. I was parked there on Saturday and in a rush to get to the Rec Center to see Will’s opening day ceremony for baseball.
I started down the driveway and Sydney followed slowly behind me, in that languid walk that only a two-year-old enjoys.
“Come on,” I said to her, waving her forward.
She shuffled forward a bit.
“Come on,” I said more insistently, with more hand waving.
Sydney stopped in her tracks and said to me, clear as a bell, “Stop talking to me like that.”
I guess a good mom would budget 5 minutes into her day to walk from here to there with a two-year-old. Me–didn’t do it.
P.S. I think I’m really in for it when she’s a teenager!
