the newest addition to their family:
the 5th grade band trombone.
The 5th grade band trombone arrived Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
It weighed 3-4 lbs, more with its *gigantic* carrying case.
It’s 36 inches long (and seems a lot longer when the slide is extended).
The 5th grade band trombone has a healthy set of lungs, making a joyful racket for all in the neighborhood to hear.
Big brother Will was over the moon to welcome the trombone until the second day he had to lug it on the bus.
Big sister Sydney and the cat are less sure about the 5th grade band trombone joining the family!

My mom played the trombone in marching band!! It’s a huge instrument, but at least it’s not a tuba, right? My daughter takes violin lessons. It’s small but squeaky!

Violin was his second choice. It would have been smaller, but he is happy (so far) with the big, shiny trombone!

Poor guy. He’s blind, so that makes it extra challenging. He startles at the sound and then has run away….sometimes into things. Poor guy.
