When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day I’m thankful.
Thankful that I don’t have to buy gifts.
Thankful that I don’t have to wrap gifts.
Thankful that I don’t have to buy or send cards.
Thankful that I don’t have to write Valentine’s.
Thankful that there are no school parties.
Thankful that there are no sign-ups to bring things to school parties.
Thankful that there are no eggs to dye or hide.
Thankful that I’m not Irish and I really don’t have to celebrate.
But most of all?
When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day I’m thankful that I can celebrate simply by drinking a beer!
When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, what’s one word that describes how you feel?
This has been another fabulous installment of “Finish the Sentence Friday”. Today’s prompt was “When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day”. Many thanks to hosts Kristi of Finding Ninee, Kelly L. Mckenzie and Lisa of The Meaning of Me.

Hahaha! Early bird gets the beer. Is it green?

No, but it’ll definitely by Guinness! Maybe Smithwick (is that one Irish or English? Eh, same general area on the map so it’ll work.)

I know! 🙂 And if I had those cute Hello Kitty green shirts like your girls, then it would be even better. Maybe weird, though, on a grown woman!

Oh Katy, this is awesome. I guess I feel pressure because I am Irish. Torn between blowing it off and doing it up! Either way, I imagine a beer will be involved.

Beer ( a little bit anyway) usually makes it better. I’m sure you’ll have a great day!

Not sure I can stomach my beer green, but it’s a fine way to enjoy. Not much celebration here other than whatever Daughter’s school does there and a cute green t-shirt for her to wear with shamrocks listening to music. Sham-rock. Cute.
Have a happy weekend!

I don’t take my beer green, but I’ll take it any other way. 🙂
Sham-rock. Awesome! I might wear that, if it didn’t look ridiculous on me.

And when you put it like that, I’m thankful too! My son is in the 4th grade and the last note to come home says Valentines participation is completely voluntary but OF COURSE they want to participate. And as it seems to be with boys – I find out at 7pm the night before.

Great perspective! St. Patrick’s is all the fun without the hassle. This year I’m grateful for my sister’s thoughtfulness – she sent my baby an adorable first St. P’s Day outfit. I totally wouldn’t have thought to buy one….

No beer for this pregnant lady, unfortunately…but I’ll take some corned beef and cabbage!

Love it! And I’ll join you in that beer. I do have to quickly complain though – my son has a homework assignment to make a leprechaun trap. Mmm hmmm. Guess I’ll have to figure that one out this weekend.
So glad you linked up!

This is perfect, Katy! The onlly thing I would change is a green gin and tonic instead of beer. Cheers!

Yeah, it’s good that St. Patty’s Day can be so low effort. At this point of the winter, I’m beginning to think of the summer (and the frantic summer vacation planning that happens each February and March) rather than come up with all kinds of green crafts. We may do a few small things (wear something green), but nothing too strenuous.

I drank wine on St. Paddy’s day. The bottle was green. Does that count? Loved your post!
