Be a Hero, Join the Cause, Do the Super Run!

August 25, 2014 By Katy 4 Comments

It’s fun to have this blog and share my personal thoughts, humorous stories, host giveaways, and connect with people around the world. It’s also a privilege, because I can use this space to spread the word about important causes.

Such is the case today. I’m pleased to tell you about the Super Run!

What is Super Run?

The Super Run is a super hero themed family fun run. That’s right, put on your best super hero outfit and run for charities and fun!

Screen shot 2014-05-19 at 1.28.02 PMThe Super Run partners with local charities to raise awareness and funds. It acts as a platform to raise awareness and funds at one big event for multiple charities, as opposed to runs that raise funds for a single charity. The Super Run joins charities together at their events to the charities can all benefit from the event. Runners/supporters don’t have to choose between different races (as many people can’t afford several races), but can attend one fun event and support multiple causes at a time.

Want to see Super Heros in action? Check out their Facebook page.

The Super Run takes place all across the country, but is coming to Michigan, my state, for 2 dates this September. On September 6, the Super Run takes place in Ann Arbor at Gallup Park. The host charity is the Lutheran Social Services of Michigan, who seek out every day superheros for more than 13,000 foster children in Michigan. They are supported by partner charities American Association for Cancer Research and Children’s Hospitals National Foundation. On September 27, the Super Run takes off in Lansing at Hawk Island Park. For more information about these dates, or to find a Super Run near you, visit them on the web at www.TheSuperRun.com.AnnArborFlier

Who’s Ready to be a Super Hero? GIVEAWAY!

Ready to run? The Super Run organizers have generously donated 1 registration to either the Ann Arbor or Lansing event plus 1 cape. To enter, leave a comment below that states 1) your comment is an entry in the giveaway, and 2) whether you’d like to run in Ann Arbor or Lansing. One winner will be randomly selected Thursday morning by 8 am EST. I’ll contact you by email and will need your address immediately so the good folks at Super Run can get you the registration and cape!

If you don’t live in Michigan, you can still get in on the fun, find a race near you, and order a cape for 20% off. Visit SuperFlyKids.com and use coupon code SUPERRUNFAN!

Everyone can still leave a comment below telling me 1) if you run or 2) have ever seen a real-life super hero.

So wish I lived closer as this sounds like so much fun! I would be willing to bet that my inability to run would be totally taken care of if I tried it in a superhero cape! 😉 Hope y’all lots of fun and can’t wait to see pictures!-Ashley

It does look like fun, doesn’t it? I’m not a runner, but they’ll have lots of other activities for families to enjoy the day and be super heroes.
