Diary of a Wimpy Kid

March 24, 2010 By Katy 1 Comment

Like most moms, I often accuse my children of not listening. I’m not sure if this story falls into that category or not!

Will and I were watching TV when we saw a commercial for the new children’s movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”

Will said, “I want to see Diarrhea Wimpy Kid!”

I giggled. Then I realized he was asking me with a straight face.

“What did you say?”

“Diarrhea Wimpy Kid?”

“Oh, you mean, Diary of a Wimpy Kid! Not Diarrhea. But it sounds kinda close.”

Then I turned it into a teaching moment about diaries and journals. Good mom points for me.

Of course, Will proceeded to remember that I giggled at “diarrhea”. Thus, he kept telling me all night long he wanted to watch “Diarrhea Wimpy Kid”, laughing, and strutting like he was so clever!
