We got an email from Will’s kindergarten that there had been a small electrical fire in the building. It was quickly contained and caused minimal smoke damage to a closet.
This email made me remember that I am part of the emergency phone fan out committee for Will’s class. In the event of an unexpected early dismissal, the room mother calls me and then I am supposed to call the 5 names on my list. Where was my list?
Huh. It was in my old purse that I stopped carrying to work months ago. In other words, if that fire had been worrisome enough to cancel school, I would have failed in my duties as an emergency caller since I didn’t have the names with me at work.
Just one more way I’ve failed to be a good mom!
(I’m ready for the next incident, though–the emergency call list is stapled to my thigh!)
