The Christmas season is in full swing and you are probably overflowing with Christmas cheer…or not.
Maybe you are overwhelmed by organizing the third grade class gift. Or maybe you are floored by your kids’ Christmas list. Or maybe you are stressed out by your lack of time and skill to deck the halls, send cards, and whip up cookies for that Christmas cookie exchange party.
If yes, then I have two things to restore your Christmas spirit.
First, I invite you to revisit my favorite Christmas memories and posts from years past, listed below. All are sure to make you laugh and/or get in the Christmas spirit.
Second, I’m giving away a $10 Amazon.com gift code to one lucky reader that you can use in any way you choose. It’s my way of spreading Christmas cheer and saying thanks for reading. Read on for details.
The Posts of Christmas Past
This one time I thought it would be great to take my toddler daughter to meet Santa. Whoops.Speaking of my daughter, she and I both have December birthdays. It’s not as bad as people who DON’T have December birthdays believe. In fact, my What to Expect When You’re Expecting in December post about having a baby in December has become my most visited blog post ever.
And who can forget the epic American Girl ice skating outfit post? Mom, Dad, grandparents, aunts, and Santa were all involved in that SAGA trying to make my daughter’s American Girl holiday the best.
Not to be outdone, my son cracked me up a few years ago when he really, really, really wanted me to come to his class holiday party. (There’s an ulterior motive there, folks, that’s too good to be missed!)If you’re sick of me talking about my kids (really?!), then you’ll want to check out my other recent Christmas post on the songs that drive me bonkers, last year’s ode to those gals from Frozen, Elsa and Anna, or what I wanted on My Ultimate Mommy Wish List.
Christmas Cheer Giveaway
Would you like to win a $10 Amazon gift code? All you have to do to enter to win is leave a comment on this post. Tell me how long you’ve been reading (don’t worry, you won’t be punished if you’re a newbie), your favorite Experienced Bad Mom post, and a little bit about yourself. Where do you call home and what are you looking forward to or already enjoying this holiday season?
That’s it.
The giveaway is open for one week, until midnight, December 15, 2015. Random.org will pick a winner from the total number of comments. Sorry, the gift code is not usable outside the U.S. (My apologies to Kelly L. McKenzie, my Canadian blogging buddy)
Merry Christmas!

Oh the injustice! Never mind, some things just are beyond our control. Despite the fact that I have no chance of winning I shall spread the cheer by sharing this post far and wide. It’s Christmas after all. Brilliant idea. May you get many American contestants!

Thank you Kelly! I was very sorry that Amazon won’t honor the gift code in Canada as I’m sure you would have been the lucky randomly selected winner. You must have a loony only version of Amazon up there.

Been reading for years but rarely comment (found you through Tammy) but follow the fun on Facebook too. My fav post is definitely What to Expect when Expecting in December since my son arrived Dec. 21st and he came home Christmas Day. I’ve always said God brought me the best Christmas present I could ever receive. Home is Farmington Hills and I work at Blue Care Network and run around like a crazy person trying to get “it all done” when I’m not working full-time. Im looking forward to long weekends off celebrating the holidays with friends and family since I have no more PTO left, I’ll take two weeks of three day work weeks instead. Merry Christmas and thanks for the chance to win!!

I have been reading/following you for most of the year. I really can’t say which is my favorite post. I just really appreciate your straightforward frankness and your blogger name is awesome! As for me I like to say I live on the edge of civilization in the way far NW Chicago burbs. I actually celebrate Winter Solstice and my baby was born on 12/24. So I totally appreciate the whole Dec bday thing! I just read your Dec expecting post and I can relate to the snow storm and having the best excuse to just not go anywhere during that time.

Too much goodness here! I really was surprised that as of now there is no Frozen Christmas album. The money that could be made…

I can’t say how long I’ve been reading because I actually have no idea. It a fact that mommy brain turns into Grandma Brain which is compounded by age! I loved the AG Skating post because we experienced almost the same thing over a ballet outfit. It solved by a friend of ours who lives in NYC going to the AG store and overnighting the stupid outfit to us. The crazy things we do as parents. I can also relate to the December birthday thing… but for us it Jan 1, which is my birthday and my only granddaughters birthday! Loved birthday parties with hung over adults as a kid! We have made many “rules” to make sure my grandkid has a birthday for her.. and fit her birthday into a holiday.

I’ve been reading here and there for about the last year from Colorful Colorado. My favorite post at the moment has to be the school holiday party one because well, I’m going to bake cookies for one shortly…after this glass (or bottle) of wine.

Following for years…favorite is the American Girl ice skating story. Mom of one amazing 12 yr old girl sharing your town. Loving shopping for the right gifts and spending time with family that I don’t see nearly enough.

I found your blog today through a linky party and just had to click on it to read. Seems like I struggle with holiday cheer every year. We have HUGE families and the holidays are often more stressful than fun. This year I thought I was golden; we’ve cut back on our exchange list so I had 8 fewer gifts to buy, I bought Christmas cards instead of making my own, I warned my family last year that I was taking time off from hosting…. and then well, life! But we keep trying and smiling, and doing our best to make each day count.

I’m a pretty new reader, and honestly I can’t remember how I ended up stumbling upon your blog (I also can’t remember my age, what I ate for breakfast this morning, or the correct name of the child I’m speaking to most of the time, either.)
I’m Jenny and I live in New England with my 5 (soon to be 6) kids and my husband Phillip who is very quiet and very hilarious when no one else is listening. And my favorite Experienced Bad Mom post is 10 Reasons Why The Tooth Fairy Didn’t Come Last Night because that happens here ALL THE TIME.
